Naomi Jane Socks.

I am so excited about these socks!! I love them annnnddd… I’m wearing them right now.

These are knit toe-up with an afterthought heel.

I wrote a pattern for these which is available on Ravelry, Etsy and Craftsy. The pattern includes the following sizes:

(foot circumference) Child 5 ½” (6 ½”), Adult 7 ¾” (8 ½”, 9”, 9 ½”)

Since I have finished these I have cast-on a pair of toe-up socks for my 10  year old, which have hearts in them. I am not using a pattern for the socks themselves, but I have modified the heart chart by Susan B. Anderson, which you can find here, so that it works toe-up instead of cuff down. I am also putting two knit rows between each heart instead of one knit row. So far I’ve only gotten through one heart motif:

I don’t like the yarn, it’s very stiff and I’m hoping it softens after washing. I know the hearts will open more after blocking so I am trying not to worry about that right now. But the yarn itself…. super stiff and I don’t like it at all.

I have not made any progress on Hannah’s shawl or my sweaters, or Gillian’s sweater. I seem to be stuck on socks at the moment. Remember my list of 2018 Knitting Goals? Well I have decided to add to that: one pair of socks per month. We’ll see how that goes.
