I have purchased both the pattern and the yarn to make Stephen West’s Exploration Station Shawl. I have been dying to make this, and it’s on my 2018 list of goals. It was really hard to pick four colors of yarn. Ultimately I have ordered Cloudborn yarn:
Now that I have ordered the yarn I’m trying not to second-guess my choice of color combination. I’m sure it will look great… I hope. Fingers crossed.
In unrelated news, everything in my Etsy shop is 10% off for the entire month of February. No coupon needed, it’s automatic.
I’ve also completed another pair of socks. They are just my own sock recipe with the heart chart taken from Susan B. Anderson, which is available for free online here.
These were made with Valley Yarns Huntington in Light Gray Heather. As I have said before, I want to try to complete one pair of socks per month this year. So far I’m right on track. I already purchased yarn (bought Patons Kroy sock yarn because I want to try it out) to make my husband his socks in March. I refuse to start a new pair before the 1st, the way I figure, I can cast-on socks every 1st of the month, work on the socks only until they are complete, then use the rest of the month to work on my larger projects or maybe other small projects. We will see how that goes.
Since I have finished Hannah’s Heart Socks for February I am back to working on Gillian’s Flax Sweater.
That’s it, that’s all I’ve got 🙂 Enjoy your day! Happy Knitting.
I finished a second pair of mittens! This pair which much more quickly. My daughter wanted the tops to be different, so I went with that.
I also finally managed to finish the Nurmilintu Shawl. It’s smaller than I expected but I do like it and since it’s a Christmas gift, I hope the recipient likes it as well.
Currently on my needles is “Flax” by Tin Can Knits. It’s a free sweater pattern on Ravelry. This is my first sweater and I’ve already had to rip back and start over!! But now I am back on track. I’m making the 8-10 year old size for my daughter, Hannah. Figured I should probably start small with my first sweater.
I know it’s not much right now but I’m pretty excited about it. I also have another Snowflake Beanie on my needles, which I generally work on when it’s slow at work, because I am familiar with this pattern and it’s kind of hard to mess it up.
It’s actually farther than that, but I haven’t taken a photo lately. The last two times I made this hat I finished in a day, so it’s goes pretty quickly if you sit and actually work on it!
I also currently have a pair of socks on the needles. Well one sock… Okay, one sock toe.
I think that’s about it for this week. I added some new project keepers to my Etsy shop. There are also a few project bags still available, I will be making more of those soon though, first chance I get.
