Currently I have two sweaters on the needles. The entire time I was knitting a Flax for Hannah, Naomi kept asking me if it was for her, where’s her sweater, why aren’t I knitting her a sweater?
I cast on her Flax, and since she’s a small three year old I have gotten pretty far, pretty quickly:
After getting that far I had this whole debate with myself over whether or not I should drop the purple entirely. Someone on Facebook said to switch it for a lighter purple, others said to drop it entirely. I am trying to use up the yarn I have and didn’t want to go out and buy some for a sweater that will likely get covered in dirt and only worn through this one winter. Ultimately I am leaving the purple. I had to add something other than the teal because I don’t have quite enough of it. Then I had added the pink but Naomi was asking for purple and this is just what I had. As long as she is happy with it, which I am sure she will be.
My other work-in-progress is a Light Rain sweater for myself. I am so excited about this sweater. It’s a pattern by Joji Locatelli, available on Ravelry. I am making size medium and using a grey yarn.
I have only just started and I’m still very new to the wrap and turns on the purl side, so they are looking like this for some reason:
I don’t think they are supposed to look like that, because I’m wrapping and turning on both ends, and the wraps on the end where I would pick up on the knit side look different than the wraps above, where I picked up on the purl side.
The pattern tells me I am working on the back of the sweater right now so I will carry on and try not to worry too much about it. If anyone knows what I’m doing wrong and has some advice? That would be great!
